Miguel Angel Jimenez Commits to the Regions Tradition at Greystone Golf & Country Club
Miguel Angel Jiminez will be making his debut in the 2017 Regions Tradition, which will be held May 17-21 at Greystone Golf & Country Club.
“We are excited to welcome Miguel as he embarks on his debut at the Regions Tradition,” Gene Hallman of the Regions Tradition says. “As one of the most recognizable names in the game, he is an exciting addition for the tournament and golf fans in the greater Birmingham area.”
Jimenez, or “The Mechanic” as he is nicknamed, sports a ponytail and often smokes a Cuban cigar while playing. The colorful native of Málaga, Spain, boasts an impressive resume that includes 21 career European Tour titles and three career PGA Tour Champions titles – including nine top-three finishes in his first 21 PGA Tour Champions starts. In 2016, he was the runner-up at the Constellation Senior Players Championship and the U.S. Senior Open. He earned international acclaim through his four appearances on the European Ryder Cup team, including a 2010 outing where he famously defeated Bubba Watson to help the European team to victory.
