Chris Carter, owner/partner of TCJ Mortgage Inc. Father to Caroline and Cannon

Who are you? I’m Chris Carter, Alabama graduate, father of two, longtime Birmingham resident, job creator!

What would people be surprised to know about you? My diaper changing skills are incredible. No diaper is too dirty for me.

What is your favorite thing about living or working in the Two Eighty area? Everything is 3-4 miles from you that you would need! God Bless BOGOs from Publix!

What advice do you have for young men living in this area? Effort is everything. You can network anywhere and anytime in this area, and you could make a healthy living. I’d be happy to give you my email address so you can ask me what NOT to do.

Tanner Allen, owner/partner of TCJ Mortgage Inc. Married to Caroline

Who are you? Husband to Caroline, father to Harry, believer and '90s music aficionado—Blind Melon to Bell Biv DeVoe, you name it, I got it.

What would people be surprised to know about you? Everything has its place.

What is your favorite thing about living or working in the Two Eighty Area? The Two Eighty really puts us in close reach to the majority of our clients and referral partners. In 10 minutes we can be downtown or in Hoover. In 15 you can get to Trussville. 

What advice do you have for young men living in this area? Get plugged in with a church in your neighborhood where you can grow and invest in others.

Who are you? Father and veteran.

What would people be surprised to know about you? I have a masters degree in public policy from UAB.

What is your favorite thing about living or working in the Two Eighty Area? The food. You can go to a different restaurant every day of the year.

What advice do you have for young men living in this area?  Be a man. You are responsible for your own actions.

L. Keith Granger, president and CEO Grandview Medical Center. Married to Kathy. Father to 3 daughters and grandfather to six.

Who are you? I’m a husband, father, grandfather and Alabama fan who enjoys spending time with family on the lake or at the beach and attending sporting events.

What would people be surprised to know about you? They would be surprised that I enjoy attending/listening to rock and country music concerts and events.

What is your favorite thing about living or working in the Two Eighty area? I like the privacy and friendliness in our neighborhood and the convenience to amenities on the 280 corridor.

What advice do you have for young men living in this area? Engage, participate and make it a great place for family living!

Mikey Spitzer, general manager of Maserati of Birmingham, Benchmark Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep. Married to Katie. Father to Elle, Peyton and Eve.

Who are you? I'm originally from Akron, Ohio. My family and I moved to Birmingham in the mid-'90s. I went to John Carroll Catholic High School and played soccer and basketball. We won state championships in soccer all four years and once in basketball. I played college soccer at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. 

What would people be surprised to know about you? They would be surprised that I was adopted, straight from the hospital, by two loving parents. There is a total of eight of us, and seven of us were adopted.

What is your favorite thing about living or working in the Two Eighty area? My favorite thing about working/living in the 280 area is that everything is a short drive away. Anything you need or want to do is close in proximity.

What advice do you have for young men living in this area? Get out of the house. Go out and explore new things and meet new people. You can never have too many friends.
