This year's 23rd Annual Drive-Out Breast Cancer Golf Tournament raised more than $110,000. Hosted at Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills by Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama staffers, the event drew 100 golfers. The Low Gross Award went to team Sokol, and First Place Net went to team United-Johnson Brothers of Alabama.
The Greystone Ladies Club held their annual Christmas party at the newly renovated home of Jason Thomas in Greystone Founders. Attendees enjoyed food and drinks while viewing the spectacular sights of the property decorated for the holiday season. The GLC provides scholarships to Spain Park High School students as well as several local charities.

The King's Home Shelby Auxiliary Pumpkin Bash & Chili Cook-Off was held October 28 at the home of auxiliary President Pam Bradford. The event raised money for King's Home, a nonprofit that provides shelter to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Guests included former first lady Patsy Riley.

The Greystone Foundation mission is "Do Good, Change Someone's World" seeking to impact the lives of those in need positively.
The 52 clubs of Rotary International District 6860 partnered with Children’s of Alabama, Otey’s Tavern and Charter Spectrum to host a football kickoff party and low country boil August 19. The event benefits the Critical Care Transport team at Children’s, which transports more than 1,000 critically ill and injured children each year.
Wedding planners and event designers enjoyed signature cocktails, appetizers, live music and tours of Hamilton Place at Pursell Farms. The new 22-acre wedding venue includes a new 4,600-square-foot building with a ballroom and glass-enclosed porch, lakeside ceremonial lawn, patio and formal gardens along with the historic Hamilton House, circa 1852.

The Regions Tradition Golf Tournament was held May 17-21 at Greystone Golf and Country Club with more than 78 professional golfers competing. Hall of Famer Bernhard Langer won for the second year in a row. The event is expected to have an economic impact of more than $25 million on the area.
King's Home Shelby Auxiliary (formerly Hannah Home Shelby Auxiliary) presented Tablescapes on April 19 at Metro Church of God. Thirty decorators showcased their talents by creating exquisite or whimsical tables.
